Learn About Co-Op Housing
|
It’s no secret that the pathway to homeownership in Western Montana is a rocky road these days. This is having an impact on buyers as well as local employers and other community stakeholders. In response, we're seeing a growing number of unique solutions for both buyers and investors.
Partnering with the Montana Cooperative Development Center and NeighborWorks Montana, we are excited to host two free workshops, one for investors and another for buyers, on June 7 to introduce the co-op model to members of our community.
Choose one of our free workshops below to better understand the opportunities and challenges that this model offers. |

Partnership Brings Permanent Supportive Homes to Great Falls
|
Across Montana, the number of people forced into houselessness is rising. As the need for homes our neighbors can afford continues to grow, working together is essential to effect positive change. We’re partnering with longtime collaborator NeighborWorks Great Falls (NWGF) to transform the vacant Baatz Building in downtown Great Falls into homes for people experiencing houselessness. |

Meet Our New Fundraising Manager
|
There's a new face at Homeword! We're thrilled to welcome Jacqueline Flewellen, our new fundraising manager.
Born and raised in San Diego, California, Jacqueline and her three siblings spent their summers alongside over twenty first cousins in Iowa. Growing up close to the border and the beach, she spent most of her time outdoors, playing sports and reading books. She lived abroad for a large portion of her twenties, discovering her love for street food, ancient civilizations and bike touring.
Jacqueline holds degrees in feminist studies, psychology and social sciences. She's been planning events for over a decade and has and over five years of diversified fundraising and fiscal management experience. As Homeword's fundraising manager, she'll put those skills to use managing major gifts, grant writing, corporate sponsorships and fundraising events.
As a long time activist, she is eager to continue working towards social, racial and environmental justice through Homeword’s mission. She's excited to join the our team and is looking forward to raising money for crucial programs and homes that strengthen Montanan communities.

Record Year for Sustainable Communities Benefit
|
At our annual Sustainable Communities Benefit Luncheon, we came together with our community to celebrate our accomplishments, the challenges we're overcoming and the bright future we envision together. There's nothing like the energy, friendships and connection at this event, and we were blown away by the outpouring of support! Together we raised over $107,000 to strengthen Montana communities!
We can't thank our sponsors and donors enough. Their generosity will provide families with the critical financial skills they need to keep their homes, build their credit, create emergency funds and save for future goals. It will help provide rental homes where local seniors and workers can live well for years. And it will give us the stability to plan for the future. Thank you for partnering with us and changing the lives of Montana workers, seniors and families! |
